OUR STORY

Haven Pregnancy Support was birthed in July 2020—under the umbrella of the Windsor Park Lifecare Trust—from a passion and desire that our founders Marina Young, Sue Ogilvie and Naomi Syred shared to fill a need in the wider community to provide better support for women and families throughout their pregnancy, and to journey alongside mums as they navigate the grief of baby loss or post termination.

Extensive research confirmed the path that Haven would take—one that ensured that all women who reached out would have all the time they need to make their decisions, and a safe space to share their fears and their story.

Haven will be a place where people are heard with compassion and without judgement, where support is provided, and where mums & families are empowered throughout their pregnancy and beyond.

We chose the name ‘Haven’ with intention. The word 'haven’ means a place of refuge. Haven Pregnancy Support will be a safe space for not only women, but men and families to find information and get support when facing an unintended pregnancy, baby loss or post termination. Through Haven we seek to live out our shared vision statement—to build stronger communities by putting our faith into action. At Haven you will find a group of people who are there for you, who believe the best in you, and who want to support, equip and journey alongside you.

He aha te mea nui o te ao
What is the most important thing in the world?

He tangata, he tangata, he tangata
It is the people, it is the people, it is the people

Maori proverb
