"Abortion often leads to a deep private grief that is not generally talked about. People need to know THAT they are not alone as they start their journey of healing and remembrance. A person starts to heal the moment they feel heard." —Marina Young, Buttons Project

LIVING IN COLOUR

Living in Colour is a healing and recovery programme for women who have experienced abortion. Abortion-related grief remains somewhat of a taboo topic in society—and so it can be difficult to process the emotional impact, or to find a sense of closure. The unresolved loss can show up in many ways including depression, anger, relationship difficulties, anxiety and substance abuse. Sometimes, it does not surface until decades later.

Living In Colour run an eight-week course which has been used successfully in many countries around the world. The course gently helps you process what was happening for you at the time of the abortion, who was involved, and the emotional impact of the decision. The final chapter of the course celebrates the process of emerging from the “grey zone” of unresolved loss into a life of greater colour and freedom. If you are interested in doing this course, or have any further questions, please get in touch with us.

At Haven Pregnancy Support we have trained facilitators for the Living in Colour Post Abortion Recovery programme. Though this programme is for women only, there are other programmes for men and options for couples effected by abortion as well. Rachels Vineyard is one of the trained facilitators for Post Abortion Recovery at Buttons Project.
